Sterling Vineyards, a leading producer of Napa Valley wines, announced today that it has named Harry Hansen as Senior Winemaker. In his new position, Hansen will be responsible for leading the Sterling winemaking team and overseeing all wine production.
"Commitment to quality, vision, and teamwork are the foundations on which Sterling was built," said David Hayman, Senior Vice President Wines Operations for Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines. "Harry has a proven track-record for creating world-class wines. And under his leadership, Sterling Vineyards will continue to be at the forefront of California winemaking."
Prior to being named Senior Winemaker at Sterling Vineyards, Hansen held the position of Director of Winemaking for Edna Valley. Hansen's tenure with Edna Valley began in 2001 as winemaker and was ultimately promoted to Director of Winemaking in 2008. Harry has a degree in genetics from University of California, Davis and went on to receive his master's in enology, also from Davis.
"I look forward to carrying on the Sterling tradition of quality and intend to work with our winemaking team to continue to make visionary wines and to cultivate Sterling's reputation as an industry leader," said Harry.
