Cork Supply USA is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Schwanebeck as customer service & supply chain manager. Schwanebeck is responsible for managing the customer experience throughout the entire supply chain process for Cork Supply’s Top-of-the-Bottle products.
With over twenty-five years of experience in the wine industry, Schwanebeck has worked with a variety of products and has been involved in all aspects of the business, from general management and sales to production and operations. His range of experience and unique perspective will be useful in providing excellent customer service throughout the entire supply chain process.
“Matt is passionate about customer satisfaction,” said James Herwatt, CEO of Cork Supply USA. “He understands how production companies operate and the best way to produce a product. He understands that it is important to make sure that the specifications for the customer are clear and that the production and operations departments are set up to produce the product that meets their expectations. He loves and understands the wine industry, and his previous experience makes him an ideal candidate to really excel in our company.”
After working for Adams Label as a Flexo Press Operator for the first ten years of his career, Schwanebeck left to be Production Manager at Tapp Technologies in 1995. Over five years, Schwanebeck coordinated a capacity increase from 2.5 million to 20 million dollars and oversaw two plant expansions, while winning the World Label Association Award for each year as Production Manager.
Throughout the next four years, Schwanebeck served in a variety of roles for Tapp, working as the Canadian Sales Manager, California Operations Manager, Corporate Representative at Adams Labels & Apex Labels, and General Manager for Apex Label & Systems.
Leaving the company in late 2004 to marry a Napa resident, Schwanebeck worked as the Production Manager for Ben Franklin Press and then moved to Metro Label Group, where he served as the General Manager of the Metro Napa plant and then Marketing Manager for the West Coast, consolidating and restructuring sales efforts and establishing a prize-winning Label Awards program.
In 2008, Schwanebeck became the Vice President of Sales at AC Label, where he was responsible for overseeing the AC entry into the West Coast market and increased sales revenue by 2 million in one year. Most recently, Schwanebeck started his own company, Dott Packaging, with a partner in 2009, before joining Cork Supply.
“Cork Supply has a great reputation in the industry,” Schwanebeck said. “I am committed to honesty and integrity in my relationships with customers, and Cork Supply offered an opportunity to work for a company that is also truly committed to providing the customer with an excellent experience. I understand the other components that the customers are dealing with, certainly labels and glass, and bringing that perspective to a cork and closure company will allow us to fully support the customer because we can look at the process from many different aspects.”
