Codorníu Group Names Keith LaVine as President of Artesa Vineyards & Winery

Date: 06/15/11

Codorníu Group has announced the appointment of Keith LaVine as President of Artesa Vineyards & Winery. LaVine brings twenty-three years of sales, marketing and winery management experience to his role at Artesa, and served most recently as Managing Director of Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards and Lynmar Estate Winery. Named the “Jewel of Carneros,” Artesa is wholly owned by the Codorníu Group, a family-owned company based in the Penedés region of Spain since the 16th Century.

“We are thrilled to welcome Keith LaVine to the Artesa management team,” said Arthur O’Connor, Director of Operations for Codorníu Group. “Artesa is one of the most beloved estates in Carneros and is widely known for producing small, ultra-premium lots of the varietals for which Carneros and Napa Valley are best known − Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Keith builds high performance teams, and he brings an acute awareness of how to leverage Artesa’s exceptional vineyards and winemaking talent to fully develop our resources."

“It’s a privilege to take on the leadership role at Artesa, and to make my contribution to a family-owned company with a 460-year legacy in the wine industry,” adds LaVine. “I look forward to increasing the awareness of Artesa for its world-class wines, amazing views of Carneros and the Napa Valley, and first-rate guest experiences.”

Keith LaVine, President, Artesa Vineyards & Winery, began his wine industry career as a Food & Beverage Director in luxury hotels, afterward moving on to work for a spirits and wine wholesaler. He later joined Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards as a Regional Manager and eventually became their National Sales Manager. He then joined Brown-Forman Corporation as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Brown-Forman Wine Estates Group. In 2003 LaVine returned to Sonoma-Cutrer to take on the role of Managing Director. Prior to joining Artesa, he also served as Managing Director at Lynmar Estate Winery. An active member of the community, LaVine has served as President and Board Member of the Sonoma County Vintners and currently resides with his family in Santa Rosa.
