The San Francisco Wine Exchange appoints Rich Richardson as General Manager

The San Francisco Wine Exchange is very proud to announce that Rich Richardson has joined its team as General Manager.

Rich will be based at the company's San Francisco headquarters to develop and manage a new National Accounts Sales Division. He will join forces with SFWE’s National Sales Manager, Phil Nugent and Founder and President, Hugh Thacher, as a liaison to SFWE’s winery clients. He will also assist Controller Wanda Dennis, with the firm for twelve years, and coordinate activities with newly appointed Director of Operations, Brooke Allen, who for four years served as former Vice President Jim Faber's Executive Administrator. Jim passed away on April 16th, 2011.

Rich Richardson's distinguished career encompasses three decades of experience working with independent family owned wineries. Rich's most recent position was General Manager for Artesa Winery in Napa Valley. Prior to Artesa , Rich was Vice President, Director of Sales & Marketing for Justin Vineyards & Winery in Paso Robles where he worked closely with The San Francisco Wine Exchange for over ten years creating a widely sought and highly allocated brand. Before coming to Justin Vineyards & Winery, Rich was the Western Regional Sales Manager for the prestigious Opus One Winery and the Southwest Regional Sales Manager for Napa’s Robert Mondavi Winery for a combined total of 15 years.

Thacher believes that this is a very exciting and evolutionary step for the now 36 year?old San Francisco Wine Exchange.
