Dalla Terra Winery Direct Chairman and Founder Brian Larky announced that he has promoted Dave Holt to President. Holt, who joined Dalla Terra in 2001, was previously General Manager. In his tenure with Dalla Terra, the company has grown from importing wines from five family-owned Italian wineries (35,000 cases/year), to 19 (300,000 cases/year). “We expect to continue our growth trajectory at an accelerated pace, and I’ve therefore asked Dave to take responsibility for the executive decision-making in order to continue to grow the company’s value-driven winery-direct business model upon which Dalla Terra was founded. Dave has been doing much of this work over the past years and is the ideal person to now take official charge of these responsibilities. This will allow me to focus on expanding Dalla Terra’s national presence, working directly with our Italian estates and collaborating with Dave on our long term strategy. This evolution gives Dalla Terra additional bandwidth and positions us for long term growth,” comments Larky.
Holt draws on an impressive 30-year career in the wine and hospitality industry, including having been the managing partner for two restaurants in Seattle, WA, as well as another in Hawaii. After retiring from the restaurant business, Holt started his career in wine as the sales director for Distefano Winery, a Pacific NW winery. “I am honored to receive this title and responsibility,” says Holt. “It’s been a wonderful ten years, building an amazing and dynamic team of some of the best and brightest in the wine industry.
