The Board of Directors of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance announced on July 28, 2010, Elizabeth Martin-Calder, Executive Director for the past four years, has made the decision to resign, effective immediately.
Under Martin-Calder’s leadership the Wine Alliance increased membership, created strategic alliances both within and outside of the wine community, launched a new website, and built trade events across the country.
“Elizabeth Martin-Calder joined the Wine Alliance at a critical time. Rapid growth in the number of wineries and vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley was occurring and Elizabeth worked diligently to define our strategic priorities, expand collaboration and to promote and define the image of Walla Walla wine. We wish her well in her new endeavor,” said Devin Stinger, Chairman of the Board.
The Board plans to explore a full range of options as it considers Martin-Calder’s successor. Mr. Stinger will briefly serve as interim director until one can be appointed.
The Alliance office will remain open regular business hours and staffed by Shontina Gianotti to service the Alliance members.
