Steven Bonavita Promoted to Vice President, General Manager, Lauber Imports, NY

Larry Goodrich, Executive Vice President, General Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of New York, Inc., a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., today announced the promotion of Steven Bonavita as Vice President, General Manager of the Company’s Lauber Imports Division. The appointment is effective June 1, 2010.

Commenting on how this promotion will help strengthen Lauber Imports’ operations across the State of New York, Mr. Goodrich said, “Steven is one of the most experienced and talented senior sales and marketing executives I have had the privilege of working with during my career. I am confident Steven will take the performance of our Lauber Imports fine wine portfolio to new levels of sales growth and distribution. On behalf of the entire Southern Wine & Spirits of New York Team, I congratulate Steven on his new position and responsibilities.” Mr. Bonavita will report jointly to Mark Lauber, President, Lauber Imports, and Brett Dunne, Vice President, General Manager, Wine, Southern Wine & Spirits of New York.

Mr. Dunne said, “Steven brings over two decades of industry experience in positions of increasing responsibility. We all know he will make great contributions going forward for the entire Lauber Imports portfolio.”

Mr. Lauber said, “In the year since Steven has joined the Lauber team, he has demonstrated his commitment to continuing Lauber's position as the premier fine wine distributor in NY. I welcome him into this new, important role."

Immediately prior to joining Southern, Mr. Bonavita served as General Sales Manager for Empire Merchants, Metro New York Retail Division. He graduated from Clarion University in Pennsylvania, and, in his first job after graduation, served as a sales representative for Southern Wine & Spirits of California.
