Marian Kopp has been appointed Managing Director / President of Niederkirchener Weinmacher eG – one of Germany’s leading premium wine cooperatives located in the Pfalz region - effective April 1, 2010.
He holds degree in Business Administration of Frankfurt/Main University. Previous positions were with Racke Germany (National Sales Director), Racke International (President) and Golden Kaan (Managing Director / President). This South African wine brand was developed by its holding company, Golden Kaan Ltd., as an innovative joint venture between Racke and KWV International, one of South Africa’s leading wineries. The Golden Kaan brand has experienced unprecedented success in international sales, ranking as the most widely distributed brand of South African wine ever launched abroad, and dominating sales of South African wine in several markets.
The Niederkirchener Weinmacher eG cooperative is based in Niederkirchen/Pfalz and covers 310 ha vineyards. 220 active members/growers supply 20 grape varietals. Riesling grape counts for 62% share. The wines are marketed domestically and on international markets. Palm Bay represents Niederkirchener with its brand BLUE FISH® Original (Riesling, Pinot Grigio and Dornfelder) in the US.
The brand has won two gold medals at the "San Francisco International Wine Competition" in 2006 as well as achieving leading rankings at the "Cincinati Wine Festival", at the "International Wine Challenge / London International Wine and Spirit Fair" and at "Mundus Vini". "Blue Fish" is now on the "TOP 100" list of imported brands in the USA. BLUE FISH® Original Riesling has been awarded for its launch and success in the US market.
