Howard Romm was named vice president of sales/national sales manager for Newman Wine & Spirits. Romm most recently served as the Arizona president for wholesaler Republic Beverage Company, a position he held for a decade. During his tenure, Republic’s revenues increased 54 percent, setting new records, while they grew in this competitive market by more than ten share points.
Earlier in his career, Romm served as executive vice president and general manager of Baltimore-based Reliable Liquors, where his efforts resulted in an average of 30 percent growth and record profits each year. He also served as executive vice president of marketing for Tarrant Distributors in Texas and was the Texas manager for General Wine and Spirits, then a division of Seagram.
“We are proud that we attracted the impressive level of talent and experience that Howard possesses,” said Jonathan Newman, chairman and CEO of Newman Wine & Spirits. “He will have an immediate impact on our ability to continue the tremendous growth we’ve experienced since our inception two years ago. We look forward to growing into new markets and increasing our level of service to our existing customers.”
