Doug Hackett Named Winemaker for Andis Wines in Amador
Andrew Friedlander, owner of Andis Wines in Amador County, announced the appointment of Doug Hackett as Winemaker. Doug was formerly the winemaker/founder of Dogwood Cellars in Healdsburg before making the move to Amador.
With a B.A. from Eastern New Mexico University and a Winemaker’s Certificate from UC Davis, Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every facet of the wine business, including winemaking, marketing and sales. His wines have garnered numerous awards and recognition from prestigious competitions and industry publications including the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, Wine Enthusiast, and Connoisseurs Guide. His talents and passion for making world-class wines will be a welcome addition to the Andis team.
Major congratulations go to our former winemaker, Mark McKenna, who’s pursuing a new and exciting opportunity elsewhere. We are most appreciative of the wonderful reactions and recognition that Andis Wines have received under Mark’s care, and wish him great success in his new path.
