Testarossa Winery, producers of premier California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, today announced that local Silicon Valley marketing executive Julie Scopazzi joins the winery as its new marketing manager.
“As our wines continue to reach national prominence, we are growing our marketing efforts and found Ms. Scopazzi to be the perfect fit,” said Rob Jensen, owner and founder of Testarossa Winery. “Her experience and passion for the industry, as well as her unlimited energy were exactly what we were looking for.”
Jensen and his wife Diana founded Testarossa in 1993 after successful careers in technology. As the effort began to take off, the Jensens decided to follow their passion and it has lead to 20 years of producing some of the country’s best and most highly awarded Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.
“My husband and I have long been collectors of fine wine with Testarossa taking a prominent position in our cellar,” said Scopazzi. “I feel like I have finally found the perfect position that blends my years of media and marketing experience along with my passion for fine wine.”
Scopazzi is the former EVP of longtime San Jose marketing agency Carter Israel Adv. & PR; she was also the former news manager of KNTV Channel 11. More recently she founded Strategic Marketing Service, LLC. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of San Jose.
Testarossa Winery is located in the historic Novitiate in downtown Los Gatos and is one of the oldest continuously operating wineries in California. Rob and Diana Jensen started Testarossa in their garage in 1993 with just twenty-five cases of wine. Today, the winery works closely with top winegrowers in the Santa Lucia Highlands, Santa Rita Hills, Arroyo Grande Valley, Santa Maria Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalone and Santa Cruz Mountains appellations. The label has grown to national prominence among collectors and reviewers by cultivating long-term partnerships with passionate winegrowers and vineyards the likes of Garys’, Pisoni, Rosella’s, Doctor's, Sierra Madre and Rincon.
