Precept Wine announced the promotion of Emily Tipton to events manager for Ste. Chapelle and Sawtooth wineries, representing the state’s two biggest wineries. Formerly the events coordinator for Ste. Chapelle Winery, Tipton said she wants to “shake things up” in her new role.
“I love Idaho,” says Tipton. “I am excited to promote this state and share why Idaho and especially the Snake River Valley AVA are so special.”
Ontario-born Tipton first started out in coffee, amassing 13 years of experience working for Starbucks Coffee Company, Seattle’s Best, and Moxie Java. From 2004 to 2009, she worked her way from store manager to coffee master to coffee ambassador for Starbucks. In 2010, Tipton was hired as a tasting room representative for Ste. Chapelle Winery and quickly ascended into the role of events and wedding coordinator.
Tipton will manage community events throughout the Treasure Valley, handle winery-based events and serve as the main liaison for wine country weddings at both the Nampa-based Sawtooth Estate Winery and Caldwell-based Ste. Chapelle Winery. Each May, Sawtooth is the site of the popular Mother’s Day Wine Tasting, averaging 1,200 annual attendees. Ste. Chapelle hosts a popular summer concert series attracting hundreds each weekend to its sprawling grounds.
She is also collaborating on winery-based educational initiatives, such as vineyard walks at Sawtooth Estate Vineyards that illustrate the finer points of Idaho’s unique climate, soil and elevation.
