About Mt. Beautiful Wines
Named after the landmark that protects the landscape from the ocean winds, the vineyards at Mt. Beautiful were planted in the uncharted territory of North Canterbury, New Zealand. Owners and visionaries, David? and Leigh Teece, pioneered an entirely new region when they decided to begin making wine in David’s birth country. They picked an area that had potential and all the right elements (soil, location, climate) to become an amazing region, rather than choosing an area that was already established. Their passion to create something truly distinctive led to the bold decision of choosing an unknown territory, and the vineyards of Mt. Beautiful were born.
Since 2004, the estate-grown, award-winning, food-friendly varietals have consisted of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling & Pinot Noir.?Our wines have definitely been known to finesse the palate with their elegant demeanor while bringing a bit of fun to the table. With vineyards that enjoy a cool, temperate climate and soils that provide an ideal environment, the wines speak for themselves. They’re made with minimally invasive techniques, are a true expression of the terroir, and are certified sustainable to ensure the maximum articulation of the varietal. In other words, they’re as delicious as nature intended them to be.
