Hand of God Wines appoints Gretchen Allen Sales and Marketing Director for the US and Canada.

Posted on March 21, 2013

As the Sales and Marketing Director for Hand of God Wines, Gretchen Allen brings over 25 years of wine sales, service, and relationships to enhance the long-term growth and vision of Mendoza’s newest premium malbec. Having worked in top restaurants as either Sommelier or Wine Director across the country (Auberge du Soleil in Napa, Valentino in Las Vegas, Davis Street Tavern in Portland), as well as upscale wine shops (Corti Bros in Sacramento, Capitol Cellars in Roseville), it was a natural evolution that she would bring her years of experience, including several years at the distributor level (Southern Wine and Spirts in San Diego, Gallo Wine Co. in New York) over to the supply side with Jon Staenberg and Santiago Achaval, partners and former Stanford alums, and the force behind the Hand of God label.

Gretchen’s primary focus will be sourcing distribution partnerships for key markets across the U.S. and Canada. “As a supplier, I believe it is my duty to be a humble source of exhaustive information when it comes to Argentina and its emerging regions and departments. Supporting distributors in their sales efforts gives me great joy and I look forward to working with key distributors such as J & P Fine Wine (Division of Southern Wine and Spirits) in Nevada as well as reconnecting with distributor friends looking to add premium Malbec to their portfolios.”

Gretchen may be reached either via telephone at 702-526-9002 or via email at For more information on current releases, please visit
