With 20 years of experience in Napa Valley, Calif., Albion Surveys announces a new member of their land surveying firm – industry veteran, noted public speaker and adjunct professor, John “Steve” Parrish.

Parrish has enjoyed a distinguished, 50-year career in land surveying. He started at the U.S. Forest Service where he held a variety of positions across five western national forests until joining the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in 1985. While at the bureau, he rose to the title of Nevada cadastral chief overseeing public land surveys. In late 1995, he pursued private surveying work for three years, until he joined Tri State Surveying in 1999 where he remained through mid-2012. This breath of experience has provided him with the opportunity to be licensed in seven states, serve as boundary project manager through Tri State Surveying for Comstock Mining Inc. at Virginia City, Nevada, present at over 300 workshops around the globe, and be a contributor to “The Surveying Handbook,” now in its second edition. Collectively, Parrish’s significant cadastral contract experience with the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management will bring great value to the firm.

Parrish will remain in Reno, Nevada, where he is also an alumnus and adjunct professor at Great Basin College (Elko, Nevada). There, he has developed coursework and taught in the Land Surveying/Geomatics department for nine years.
