Benchmark Wine Group, a Napa Valley reseller of collectable, vintage and rare wine, announced the hire of Dan Bock as their new sales director. Bock's background in hospitality and tourism, along with his passion for the outdoors, created a myriad of opportunities to experience and gain knowledge of the wine world.
Bock previously moved to Mammoth Lakes, California in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range to work as a sales manager for the world renowned ski resort, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. While the new Westin Monache Resort, Mammoth was being built, he was sought after to open the Monache property as a senior sales manager, which allowed him to participate and help establish the hotel’s “White Bark Restaurant” wine list. His success with the Monache catapulted his career, resulting in an offer to open the prestigious Westin Verasa Napa Hotel in the Napa Valley as director of sales and marketing. The Verasa experience enabled Dan to establish strong relationships within the Napa Valley and further enhance his wine knowledge with the development of the new property.
Bock was later sought after by Silverado Resort and Spa as the director of sales where he headed the development and implementation of a partnership program with local wineries. His passion for the Napa Valley resulted in Benchmark seeking his employment.
“This is an exciting time to be a part of Benchmark Wine Group, and I am honored to be part of the organization. With all the new campaigns, website and programs- the opportunity for growth is exponential,” he said.
