Montes U.S.A. Names Salome Miller Brand Manager

Chilean native and veteran wine marketer Salome Miller has been appointed the new brand manager for Montes U.S.A.

Montes U.S.A. is the North American arm of Viña Montes, whose portfolio includes Montes Alpha, Purple Angel, Montes Folly and Montes Alpha M wines, as well as its newest premium Chilean label, Outer Limits, among others. Montes also produces wines in Argentina under the Kaiken label and a selection of premium domestic wines called Star Angel and Napa Angel. As brand manager, Miller will manage the representation of all Montes U.S.A. brands throughout the U.S., including coordination of educational, marketing and public relations efforts.

“Salome is passionate, well-connected in the U.S. and an expert in Chilean and South American wines, so we feel she is an excellent fit for Montes,” said Carlos Serrano, export director of Viña Montes. “With her driving the U.S. market, we look forward to expanding awareness and placement of some of our newer labels, including Outer Limits and Kaiken, as well as building on the success and reputation we’ve built for Montes wines over the last 25 years.”

"As a native of South America and lover of fine wines, I have long been passionate about the fine wines of Chile and Argentina,” says Miller. “That has driven my desire to be both a connoisseur of South American wines and more recently a wine professional representing the respected, highest quality winery of Chile---Montes. Now, to represent Montes and its incredible portfolio of wines from three countries is a dream come true."

Montes wines are imported into the U.S. through TGIC Importers and distributed in all 50 states. Prior to joining the Montes staff, Miller worked in the Marketing Division at the brand’s California distributor, Titan Wines and Spirits' Marketing. She is a certified wine specialist, with accolades from the Society of Wine Educators and Wine and Spirit Education Trust; she has also begun studying with The Court of Master Sommeliers. She has lived and traveled extensively in Europe, South America, Canada and the U.S., specializing in the sales and marketing of South American and California wines.
