Date: 11/08/12

J. Soif, Inc., brand owner and importer of Yellow+Blue Wines, announced the addition of George Coates, Jr. in the dual roles of vice president and chief operating officer, as well as a partner in the corporation.

Prior to joining J. Soif, Inc. Coates spent six years at Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits in the role of Division Vice President, where he managed the markets of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Prior to Deutsch Family Wine & Sprits, Coates spent 11 years with Southern Wine & Spirits of Pennsylvania in several roles, culminating in the role of vice president – general sales manager, Liberty Wine Division.

In his role as VP and COO, Coates will be charged with accelerating the growth and exposure of Yellow+Blue brand of high quality, sustainably produced wines offered in TetraPak. Additionally, he will orchestrate the launch of J. Soif’s new globally sourced brand of appellation driven wines bottled in locally sourced, eco-friendly glass.

Matthew Cain, president and CEO of J. Soif, Inc. says, “We are thrilled to have George join our team. I’ve known George for many years, and in addition to my fondness for him personally, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have a person of his caliber to help move our young and growing company to the next level.”

“Matt and J. Soif, Inc. have carved a unique niche in the wine industry by bringing high quality, sustainably produced wines to market through an environmentally sensitive route," said Coates. "Matt’s decade spent working for legendary importer Kermit Lynch make him the ideal individual to source the wines for all of J. Soif, Inc’s projects. Through both avant garde and traditional packaging, J. Soif, Inc is ideally positioned to supply our distributors with the agriculturally and environmentally responsible wines that retailers, restaurateurs and consumers alike are searching for. Matt and I have been good friends for close to twenty years, and the opportunity to collaborate with him on this project is both exciting and personally rewarding.”
