Gary Farrell Winery has appointed Stephanie Friedman as direct sales manager, handling the winery's wine club and other consumer-direct sales programs. She joins Gary Farrell Winery, located in the Russian River Valley, from Quivira Vineyards & Winery and La Follette Wines.
Friedman is a Bay Area native and fell in love with wine country while attending Sonoma State University, where she received an MBA with a focus on the wine industry. She began her career in wine in Sonoma Valley where she was instrumental in launching a new brand, Anaba Wines. Her ambition then led her to Dry Creek Valley where she managed direct sales and hospitality for Quivira Vineyards & Winery and launched another new brand, La Follette Wines.
"Stephanie has a sophisticated understanding of direct-to-consumer sales and marketing and is an accomplished customer relations professional," noted Nancy Bailey, general manager for Gary Farrell Winery. "Our wine club and other direct sales programs will benefit greatly from Stephanie's management, creativity and customer focus."
Gary Farrell Winery was founded in 1982 by Gary Farrell, who was a pioneer in the Russian River Valley wine region. For more than 25 years, Gary Farrell Winery has crafted small-lot artisan wines that capture the balance and stylistic elegance of some of the finest vineyard sites in the region. Farrell sold the winery in 2004, and today Gary Farrell Winery is owned by The Vincraft Group, a fine-wine investment company run by wine industry veterans Pete Scott, Walt Klenz and Bill Price. Vincraft is nurturing Gary Farrell's legacy of producing small lots of Burgundian-styled, varietally expressive and regionally distinctive Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at its beautifully designed winery on Westside Road near Healdsburg in northern Sonoma County.
