PlumpJack Winery Appoints Aaron Miller as Head Winemaker

PlumpJack Winery General Manager John Conover is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Miller to the position of head winemaker at PlumpJack Winery. Miller brings to the position more than twelve years of international experience, as well as an extensive understanding of the business side of the industry. His dedication, winemaking philosophy and wide-ranging experience align ideally with PlumpJack’s commitment to quality and technological advancement in winemaking.

Conover, general manager and partner at PlumpJack and CADE wineries, said, “Aaron’s knowledge of Napa Valley vineyards and of wines across the world, coupled with his passion for the wine industry and impeccable viticulture and enology credentials, positioned him as the standout candidate. Miller comes to PlumpJack Winery from Lewis Cellars, having been promoted from assistant winemaker to associate winemaker at the critically-acclaimed, family-owned Napa winery. Prior to this position, he spent more than three years at Groth Vineyards & Winery, located in the Oakville appellation of Napa Valley, where he held the position of enologist and quality control manager. Miller’s previous winery experience includes stints at Rimu Grove Winery, Nelson, New Zealand; Antinori Tenuta Tignanello, Mercetale, Italy; Edna Valley Vineyards, San Luis Obispo, California; and Pine Ridge Winery, Napa Valley, California. Miller also successfully established himself as a vineyard manager, taking on a personal project in the Sonoma Coast region of California’s wine country and managing all aspects from day-to-day operations to the sale of the grapes.

Miller also has a strong academic background, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science and a Master of Science degree in Viticulture and Enology from the University of California, Davis. The 34-year-old winemaker is a native of California. Miller currently resides in Napa, where, when not working, he enjoys hiking, cycling, cooking and drinking wine with family and friends.

PlumpJack Winery is located at 620 Oakville Cross Road, Napa, California 94558. PlumpJack is open for tastings seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
