Napa’s Cliff Lede Vineyards and Anderson Valley sister property Breggo Cellars announced the appointment of Master Sommelier Jennifer Huether. In her new role, Huether will serve as a brand ambassador and an education director throughout both the United States and Canada. Cliff Lede Vineyards and Breggo Cellars are owned by Canadian Cliff Lede.
Cliff Lede and Breggo Cellars’ President Jack Bittner commented that “Jennifer’s expertise as a Master Sommelier, coupled with her invaluable connections throughout the Canadian wine industry will serve to boost Cliff Lede Vineyards’ and Breggo Cellars’ presence across North America. We think she’ll be a tremendous educational resource for both the trade and consumers.”
Huether was most recently the Head Sommelier for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. in Toronto, overseeing a large award-winning wine program spanning several different restaurants. The wine program at MLSE is one of the largest and most comprehensive in North America, with wine investments in the millions.
“I am grateful for my time at MSLE and my contributions to helping create one of the great wine programs in North America. From the vineyard to the winery, I am excited to be part of the creative process at Cliff Lede and Breggo Cellars. I am looking forward to working with one of the best teams in the wine business,” said Huether of her new role.
In 2011, Huether passed the Master Sommelier exam, making her the only female Master in Canada and one of only 17 female Masters of the total 118 Master Sommeliers in North America.
