The Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley (WDCV) recently hired Cheryl Beeson as the Director of Marketing and Communications. Beeson will develop the association’s marketing and branding strategies, and produce events designed to increase awareness of Dry Creek Valley as a premium winegrowing region.

Previously, Beeson held a Regional Manager position with Nestle USA, and was National Sales Manager with CMP Media, a division of United Business Media. She was involved in regional marketing strategies, high-tech conferences and events. She was also responsible for sponsorship development for key accounts in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Beeson holds a B.S. in Political Science from Illinois State University and a M.S. in Psychology from Dominican University in California.

Greg Chambers, president of the WDCV board, states: “Hiring outside the industry will bring a fresh perspective to an industry that is going through numerous changes.  We felt that marketing Dry Creek Valley’s grapes and wines would be best met with a combination of traditional and non-traditional marketing tactics. Cheryl brings this skill set, plus a unique set of group dynamic skills to the table.”

The WDCV is an association of more than 60 wineries and 150 growers, of which most are family-owned, multi-generational and located in Healdsburg, Sonoma County. The WDCV is dedicated to advancing the recognition, enhancement and preservation of Dry Creek Valley as a premium winegrowing region.
