Niagara Escarpment builds reputation as wine country

A 3,800-square-mile stretch running from Cedarburg to Door County is gaining a reputation for its fine grapes for winemaking. The region is distinguished by the Wisconsin arm of a geological formation known as the Niagara Escarpment that runs from New York State through Canada, Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois.
