J. Lohr Estates Falcon's Perch Pinot Noir and Flume Crossing Sauvignon Blanc Now Available on Tap in California and Nevada

Date: 06/24/14

The use of reusable kegs underscores the family-run winery's commitment to sustainability

San Jose, Calif, – June 24, 2014 – J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines announced that its 2012 J. Lohr Estates Falcon’s Perch Pinot Noir and 2013 J. Lohr Estates Flume Crossing Sauvignon Blanc are now available on tap in California and Nevada. In partnership with Free Flow Wines, both wines are now available in reusable steel kegs, which will be distributed by Wine Warehouse in California and Wirtz Beverage Group in Nevada.

This extremely efficient and environmentally conscious delivery system holds the equivalent of 26 750 ml bottles, or 130 five-ounce pours, and brings these two wines to consumers in the fewest possible steps. In addition to helping the environment by doing away with corks, bottles, labels and cardboard case boxes, the tap system eliminates the oxidation and spoilage that can occur with regular on-premise by-the-glass programs.

This delivery system will ensure that consumers always enjoy the exceptional quality that has quickly positioned these two J. Lohr wines as Monterey favorites. The 2012 J. Lohr Estates Falcon’s Perch Pinot Noir, Monterey County, recently garnered Best of California/Best of Class of Northern Central Coast Region, Double Gold and 98 points from the 2014 California State Fair, and the recent 2012 vintage of J. Lohr Estates Flume Crossing Sauvignon Blanc, Arroyo Seco, Monterey, was awarded Double Gold and Best of Class at the 2014 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

To help accounts promote the availability of these wines on tap, J. Lohr has designed a set of two branded tap handles with an etching of J. Lohr’s original estate vineyards in Monterey.
