BC: Howling Bluff Estate Winery Expands

Press Release: Luke Smith, Proprietor of Howling Bluff Estate Winery, is pleased to announce the expansion of the winery to include a new wine shop, tasting room and extended parking lot with turn around and parking capacity for tour buses.

Luke comments, "We are family run business, meaning we do it all ourselves, and we have been so busy until now growing grapes and making wine, we were unable to find the time to accommodate our success with this much needed expansion. We are very pleased to have opened our new wine shop and tasting room, and, because we are a family business, you will still find me in the tasting room, especially on weekends." The tasting room is open seven days a week from 11 AM - 6 PM.

Located on the renowned Naramata Bench in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Howling Bluff Estate Winery is the culmination of Luke Smith's life long passion for great wines. After giving up his career in the investment industry, Luke, with his son Daniel, is producing award-wining wines which stared with their first vintage in 2006. Dedicated to producing small lots of fine wines, Luke and Daniel are building a legacy, a family winery for their future generations. In its short history Howling Bluff has received many awards including two (2009 and 2011) Lieutenant Governor Awards for Excellence in BC Wine and the 2010 Wine Access Magazine Red Wine of the Year for their Summa Quies Pinot Noir.

The goal of Howling Bluff is to produce the best wine the Okanagan can, wines equal to some of the great wines of the world using only estate grown grapes. Howling Bluff's first vines were planted in 2004 at the Summa Quies Vineyard, which is now a contiguous 20 acres surrounding the winery on the Naramata Bench. Luke adds, "The continued consistency and success of our Pinot Noir shows what Naramata Bench estate grown grapes can create. Luke closes, "Our Pinot Noir was a 10 year experiment which is wrapping up early, the property and Mother Nature has spoken, our vineyard is a perfect spot for Pinot to grow in a world class fashion."
