Trinchero Family Estates Purchases Napa Cellars Winery
Press Release - August 16, 2006. St. Helena, California-- Trinchero Family Estates Vice-Chairman and CEO Roger J. Trinchero announced today that Trinchero Family Estates, the Napa Valley wine company of over 50 years, has purchased Napa Cellars Winery. "We are expanding and intensifying our commitment to fine wine and the Napa Valley," states Trinchero. Napa Wine Cellars provides the ideal complement to our existing wine portfolio and facilities." In June of 2004, Trinchero Family Estates purchased Folie á Deux Winery located in St. Helena which will be the future home of the Trinchero Family Winery.
Founded in 1996 by Rich Frank and Koerner Rombauer, Napa Cellars prides itself in being one of Napa Valley's boutique wineries. Located just north of the famous Mustard's restaurant on Hwy. 29, the winery's warm and casual tasting room provides visitors with an experience reminiscent of old-time Napa Valley. Napa Cellars' wine portfolio includes Napa Valley favorites such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Syrah. The winery also produces limited offerings of Late Harvest Zinfandel, Vin Gris and a late harvest Semillon called Fié Doux.
Trinchero Family Estates currently owns 6,000 acres of California vineyards, 200 of which are located in Napa Valley. The company has two Napa Valley production facilities on Highway 29 and another on Zinfandel Lane in St. Helena.
