Description: This event offers industry members a chance to evaluate applied research pertinent to Pennsylvania’s growing industry. The goal of the symposium is to enhance innovation and productivity in Pennsylvania vineyards and wineries through the power of research and education.
For 2014, the program will include research on:
- the Pennsylvania variety trials (with wine tasting)
- frost protection
- rot management in the vineyard
- native variety flavor carry-over into hybrid/vinifera wines
- the use of co-inoculation for high acid red-hybrid varieties.
Additional topics will be covered by Dr. Amanda Stewart and Dr. Molly Kelly from Virginia Tech University. Furthermore, this symposium will welcome Dr. Michela Centinari as the newly-hired Penn State research viticulturist. Please join us for this exciting event as we review the pertinent research for Pennsylvania wine growers!
