Wine in the Vines: Piemonte
Serralunga d'Alba, Italy
Registration Deadline: Jan 31, 2014
Event Type: Seminars and Classes
Description: Wine in the Vines is simply about teaching wine on location; immersing the student in the culture of the region as well as presenting information. This 5-day program in Serralunga d’Alba is designed and will be moderated by Master of Wine, Joel Butler. The curriculum includes all wine regions of Piemonte in more than 34 hours of lectures. Of course, there will be a little bit of wine tasting as well!
The target audience: wine professionals and very serious enthusiasts.
Joining Joel are dozens of top producers and other experts such as Alessandro Masnaghetti on mapping, Dr. José Vouillamoz on grapes and Ian D’Agata speaking on the world market.
Participants are encouraged to stay at a winery-owned agriturismo to maintain the immersion. There is free travel assistance available to help with finding agriturismi, great rental car prices and dining, but also includes companion program for those who bring their better-halves who aren’t sitting for the lectures.
The program dates precede Nebbiolo Prima (May 11) so the trip can be combined and still leave a few days in between for private appointments or leisure. There will be pre-event parties on the evening before and a Grand Tasting the evening afterwards.
Limited seats available for lectures – 130 only. Starting at $1920 if you sign up before December!
