Description: The Maryland Grape Growers Association (MGGA) is now registering attendees for its annual grapevine training and pruning workshops. These clinics will educate both new and seasoned growers on the best practices for trellising, training and pruning grapevines of varying ages and varietals and will be tailored to the growing environments found across the state. Other viticultural practices including disease and weed control, fertilization, vineyard equipment and safety, etc., will also be addressed.
The Southern Maryland clinic will take place on Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at Perigeaux Vineyards and Winery. Eight acres are planted with vines of various ages including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Gris, Montepulciano, and Zinfandel.
Walk-in registration welcome with exact cash or check. Event held rain or shine. An inclement weather date will be provided for extreme rain/snow events. Bring your pruning shears and dress for a day in the field.
