Description: This event promises a wealth of business and technical information for those with existing vineyards and/or wineries as well as those who are considering establishing a vineyard or winery. Speakers will include many well-known industry leaders from across the mid-Atlantic region covering both the practical science and the business aspects of running a vineyard or winery.
The New Growers track will feature sessions on vineyard economics, funding sources, site selection, and pest management, among others.
The Viticulture track will offer sessions on soil testing, nutrient management, leaf pulling, Integrated Pest Management strategies, and more.
The Wine track will cover best practices for making Cabernet Franc in the mid-Atlantic, aspects of planning and zoning for wineries, building a successful wine club, as well as information on the University of Maryland’s latest research varietals and wines.
Select sessions will offer re-certification credits for pesticide application and nutrient management.
