Cost-Effective Purchasing Workshop & Glass Plant Tour
Event Type: Seminars and Classes
Description: In this age of information overload it is difficult to find the most valuable information just when you need it most. That is why the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance has pulled together a workshop to help you learn how to partner with your supply chain to help reduce costs associated with operations, while fulfilling your sustainability goals and objectives.
- Stop paying to throw away supplier waste--What if you could save 10 or 15 cents, or more, off the cost of every case of wine? Learn how to work with suppliers to reduce the unwanted materials that come with your supplies.
- Learn the difference between “recyclable” and “recycled”, and why this matters to purchasing, operations, sales and distribution.
- Hear from vendors about what they can and can’t do to meet all your price, quality and environmental requirements for your supplies.
- See examples of proven methods to reduce resource consumption in wine packaging and examples of new packaging materials designed for environmental quality.
Who should attend?
Winemakers, purchasing decision makers, owners, operational managers and tasting room managers should attend to hear directly from their peers about the successes and challenges with issues of material purchasing, waste, and solid waste diversion.
