Wine Research Assistant

Job Description:

Highly successful fast growing fine and rare wine company is looking for a hands-on, data oriented, organized, technically proficient individual with a strong interest in the world of rare and highly collectible wines. This position requires strong research and data skills. Background knowledge of California and international wines is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Research market prices of international and domestic wines
• Manage and process orders along with outstanding payments
• Create, log, upload and track delivery of commercial PO’s and invoices
• Research producers, winemakers, regions, or vintages (finding reviews, press articles and selling points for an offer)
• Source replacement wines
• Handle specific customer requests/wish-list fulfillment
• Check-in, locate, and log incoming wines
• Process and track import label approval paperwork for incoming international shipments
• Research and seek out new vendors
• Input lists into excel (data entry)
• Assist with the valuation & check-in of collections, re-pricing, and uploading commercial and international purchase orders
• Help with occasional off-site collection pick-ups

Desired skills:
• General Global wine knowledge or enthusiasm
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to juggle several simultaneous projects
• Solid quantitative/analytic skills; data analysis and entry
• Self-directed with high personal quality expectations, as well as a solid team player
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Entry Level; High School diploma or general education degree required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years or more in related experience.
