Operations Supervisor

Job Description:

Mumm Napa is currently seeking an Operations Supervisor for its Rutherford, California location. This position will be responsible in driving the success of the production department by continually motivating employee morale, communicating management goals and objectives, correcting undesirable behaviors and encouraging continuous development and improvement. This role is responsible for providing production reporting for winery operations to include general production support. Monitors production planning and coordination to ensure a smooth and controlled flow of materials timed to meet bottling requirements.

Responsible for administering all principles of Mumm Napa’s QSEFS Management System.


Essential Duties

People Management (20%)
•Provide coaching and direction to all Production employees
•Ensure employees receive proper equipment training, quality training, and adhere to production guidelines
•Directs monthly and year end physical inventories
•May be required to move product and supplies by use of forklift
•Assists Bottling Supervisor with training of new/less experienced employees

Production Performance (40%)
•Supervises shipments, tracking, and inventory for PR Samples
•Creates and maintains all bottling schedules
•Monitors, analyzes, and creates monthly reports for finished goods inventories
•Identifies issues where procedural changes are necessary, and implements and documents corrective actions
•Responsible for managing production inventories and reporting production bottling activities
•Submits requests to PR Database and Purchasing teams for the creation of new finished goods and packaging material components in manufacturing software system
•Creates Item Master records for all WIP materials in manufacturing software system
•Responsible for PDM data in manufacturing software system including costing coordination with Finance team
•Ensures integrity of data input and management of the monthly Dry Goods Model
•Creates and manages monthly PO logs
•Creates purchase orders for production, operating, and safety supplies
•Ensures accurate completion of daily production reports including reconciliation with WM department as needed
•Ensures all necessary documentation, reports, and notices are posted in designated production areas
•Maintains current and accurate dry supply records, specs, and documentation in the Intellapac software system
•May be required to fill in as bottling supervisor and on the bottling line as needed

Budgetary Performance (10%)
•Maintain budgetary line efficiencies and production performance to reduce or eliminate rework and losses
•Assists Director of Operations with management of, and adherence to annual departmental budgets

QSEFS Management (30%)
•Fosters and drives department compliance with company QSEFS policies, programs, initiatives, and activities
•Point person for departmental QSEFS documentation and acting Entropy super user
•Monitor product quality issues and resolve as needed
•Conduct periodic safety inspections, complete incident reports, enforce company PPE usage policy
•Participate in annual internal and external audits
•Oversees monthly departmental QSEFS inspections
•Creates, analyzes, and delivers monthly production related KPIs


REQUIREMENTS:

•Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. AA+ desireable.
•3-5 years’ experience in a production setting, preferably Wine Industry related
•Forklift Certification Required

Experience/Background:
•Good knowledge of manufacturing and distribution processes, procedures, and workflow
•Must be 21 years of age
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs


Technical Functional Skills:
•Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
•Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required (bi-lingual/Spanish a plus)
•Ability to excel in a fast paced environment
•Strong multi-tasking and time management skills needed
