We are a high-end, private, boutique winery in Oakville with a strong focus on building and maintaining our membership.
The Brand Ambassador will provide our guests a warm, gracious and memorable visit while subtly but effectively promoting wine sales and membership. Our tastings are private, seated and by appointment. All candidates for the position must be comfortable in small groups and one-on-one situations.
There is a strong sales component to this position and the candidate will be responsible for achieving the sales goals set forth by the director of the Direct to Consumer department. Outreach to referral sources is an essential part of the position. Some travel may be required to host DTC dinners. 5-7 years wine sales experience required.
The position is full time, Tuesday-Saturday, however the candidate must be flexible; as Sundays, Mondays and evenings are mandatory when scheduling requires.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Sales and Promotion:
Promote company through concierges, destination management groups, restaurants, other wineries and active guest solicitation.
Host networking and tasting groups at winery property.
Build and maintain winery partners’ portfolio.
Create cross marketing efforts with local restaurants and wineries.
Attend networking /hospitality mixers.
Pour at evening and weekend events as needed.
Conduct outbound calls to members/buyers.
Tours and Tastings:
Host direct to consumer and trade tastings.
Describe wines, vineyard practices, winemaking, and family history.
Effectively suggest and sell wine to customers.
Describe membership and allocation benefits.
Provide recommendations for wineries and restaurants to clients as requested.
Keep all areas of the property immaculately clean, orderly and inviting.
Accurately handle routine wine purchasing transactions, to include processing orders.
Keep precise and accurate records of referral sources and sales detail.
Maintain inventory and supplies, including creation of collateral material.
Assist winemaker with tasting notes for marketing material.
Advanced wine knowledge.
Proven track record of wine sales.
Well integrated experience in the Napa Valley.
