•Supports Human Resources management and team with all phases of HR management and supports business needs, goals and objectives, and related local and Corporate HR programs.
•Primary responsibilities include interpreting policies; ensuring compliance with all policies, company processes, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and state/federal employment laws; partnering with management on employee/labor relations; and conducting internal investigations as assigned by HR management.
•Partners with all levels of management and both union and non-union employees to communicate various local and Corporate HR objectives and procedures in compliance with company policy, union contracts and employment law.
•Conducts internal investigations as assigned by either local and/or Corporate HR management.
•Proactively provides consultation and coaching on employee/labor relations issues by assisting managers with the implementation of progressive discipline and performance management plans.
•Drafts corporate communications, investigative reports and works effectively in conjunction with department management, corporate HR. , and legal counsel, when directed to do so by HR management.
•Acts as a first point of contact for line managers and provides support in regards to employee/labor relations issues, inquiries and complaints. Provides prompt and appropriate guidance under the management of the department manager.
•Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws which will require an on-going commitment to continuing education and familiarity with changes in labor laws and regulations.
•Collaborates with the CA Talent Management function in the creation of Affirmative Action Plans to support diversity and inclusion strategies.
•Partners with all functional sales and operations departments in the company to ensure proper handling of employee-related issues and concerns. Escalates issues to HR management when appropriate.
•Supports department and company-wide special projects and additional responsibilities as they present themselves whether annual (Benefits Open Enrollment, Service Awards, etc) or spontaneous.
•Performs other related duties as required.
•Adherence to company attendance policy.
•Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Communication and/or related field.
•5+ years of progressive and relevant high level HR experience in the areas of employee/labor relations, internal investigations, conflict resolution and talent acquisition.
•Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support detailed report development/investigations, as well as business memos, policy summaries and necessary documentation.
•Creativity, innovation and the ability to solve problems and generate viable solutions.
•Must be approachable and effective with ability to influence change across all levels of the organization.
•Must have good time management skills and be able to prioritize duties.
•Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, but also discern situations where information must be shared on a 'need to know' basis.
•Ability to work with all professionals at different levels coupled with mediation, negotiation and consultation strengths.
•Ability and willingness to comply with, and support all company policies.
•Good knowledge of related federal and state employment laws/regulations including ADAAA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and Worker's Compensation.
•Master’s Degree with emphasis in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent is preferred.
•Human Resources PHR/SPHR preferred.
•Bilingual in English and Spanish desired, but not required.
