Job Summary

The Marketing & Communications Director is an enthusiastic and committed strategist and
spokesperson who works to promote the image and awareness of brand on a national and
international level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Marketing, and an
understanding of consumer behavior and market demographics. Experience which incorporates
a lead role in setting, overseeing and executing digital marketing plans is crucial (whether
it is in-house or in managing an outside agency). They will also utilize a combination of
consumer, trade and media focused strategies, along with solid marketing and communication
skills and knowledge of wine writers, publications and wine events. This is a high profile position
within the wine industry and as such this person is responsible for providing full internal and
external public relations, marketing and communications strategy, direction and support.

This position works closely with the Executive Leadership Team to identify and develop
key markets and establish budgets to support goals and objectives. The ability to research,
create, develop, manage, measure and execute: public relations strategy, marketing and
communications programs, including media relations with national wine and consumer media,
community relations, media related events and activities, digital communication and social
media campaigns, advertising and promotion campaigns, consumer-direct marketing, high level
marketing partnerships, and all written content that promotes brand is essential. The Marketing
& Communications Director will also manage outside resources.

The candidate selected for this position will have extremely strong writing skills and will be
responsible for developing and managing all written materials and communications, including
electronic and web-based, as well as capable of working with journalists and members of the
media and overseeing public relations. All viable candidates will be asked to submit a writing
sample. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge and understanding of wine brand
marketing, communications and social media, advertising and public relations strategies.
