Dynamic young wine company seeks Assistant Winemaker for a state-of-the-art red wine facility. Duties consist of daily oversight of all winemaking activities including crush, fermentation, punch-down, pump-over, press, barrel operations, aging and blending. Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision and supervise a team of 3-6 cellar workers in a remote location. The winery is dedicated to the production of small-lot, high quality red wines for ultra-premium and luxury category brands.
Successful candidate should have a degree in Enology or related discipline from a two- or four-year program and a minimum of two years of experience in a similar position in the production of ultra-premium wine. Work experience could substitute for degree requirement. Candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work independently and supervise others. Compensation is dependent on experience.
