Since its inception in 1993, Archery Summit has been devoted to crafting exceptional Pinot noir. Inspired by the remarkable growing conditions provided by the Willamette Valley, Archery Summit approaches each step of the wine making process with particular thoughtfulness and care, so as to yield one of the finest and most luxurious Pinot noirs available.
The foundation of Archery Summit’s vision is its location: Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Pinot noir is an early-maturing variety that requires the perfect combination of cool climate and sunshine in order to achieve balanced ripening. The Willamette Valley is one of the unique growing regions that possess the ideal growing conditions required to achieve optimal Pinot noir character.
The purpose of this position is to create and foster a positive relationship between both public and trade visitors and Archery Summit. Tasting Room employees are the ambassadors of the winery and as such are individually responsible for each visitor’s impressions of Archery Summit. The main duties of this position are to work with guests in the Tasting Room guiding them through their wine tasting and conducting sales.
KEY POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•Extensive knowledge of wine and wine tasting practices.
•Excellent customer service sensibilities with an outgoing, engaging and friendly personality.
•Exceptional, professional and proven sales abilities.
•Ability to comfortably speak to large and small groups while conveying the history of the winery and wine making techniques in a dynamic and upbeat way.
•Possess maturity and professionalism and have a positive demeanor.
•Ability to multi-task and work independently.
•Aptitude to operate a POS system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Create memorable and informative experiences for guests through wine tastings and education.
•Conduct tours for both public and trade groups.
•Prepare the tasting room for each day’s activities and clean up at day’s end.
•Assist with packing all shipping generated from Tasting Room sales and other winery activities.
•Stock Tasting Room with wine, supplies (glasses, bags, etc.) and merchandise daily.
•Conduct off-property tastings.
EDUCATION TRAINING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
•Must be 21 or older
•Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly (cases of wine).
•Willing to work weekends and some holidays.
•Ability to secure an OLCC service permit.
•Must be able to work weekends.
•Must be able to work all holidays except for the following: Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Day and Independence day.
