The Chain Programming Manager will effectively provide leadership within a distributor dedicated sales force to maximize sales and programming opportunities at the headquarter level for the Grocery and Drug Channel Statewide.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following; other duties may be assigned):
-Work with Chain Account Execs and VPs to construct and maximize monthly programming on the entire portfolio while utilizing all existing assets including promotional funding budgets, trade marketing activities and national media campaigns.
-Proactively diagnose performance risks and opportunities across all retail accounts and implement solutions where necessary; Work closely with sales leadership and selling teams in order to implement market wide solutions / action plans where necessary
-Drive planning process during each half in order to ensure total portfolio success taking into account past programming, IRI results, depletion results and competitive activity
-Programming Manager must be able to comfortably interpret and communicate all types of syndicated data
- Lead Post Programming analysis with the Chain Account Execs highlighting successes and opportunities in order to benchmark metrics for future programming
-Secure innovation and new item distribution to achieve targets; Programming manager will be responsible for delivering periodic new item presentations to both sales force and retailers.
-Work with supplier Marketing to facilitate communications and planning on all POS ordering processes
-Manage price promotion budgets monthly ensuring that only previously agreed upon programming is processed; must manage business within pre-determined budgets
-Communicate / recap Statewide CA performance regularly to DTD Chains.
-Present Business reviews when necessary
•College graduate with 5 plus years relevant experience that should include; Sales management experience with a major CPG company and/or 3-tier Distribution experience
•Exposure and experience working with cross-functional teams
•Experience working for beverage distributor
•Experience calling on retailers - both single and multi unit
•Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; primarily Powerpoint, Excel and Word
•Experience working in a team environment
