B.R. Cohn Winery, located in the heart of the Sonoma Valley is hiring for an experienced, hospitality driven direct-to-consumer manager to join our team. The Director of DTC Marketing is a key member of the executive team for B.R. Cohn and will lead the direct-to-consumer group in delivering financial and strategic results along with exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will have a strong background in growing direct-to-consumer business, develop, inspire and manage a diverse team of individuals and have an above average understanding of hospitality and customer service.
The Director of DTC Marketing is responsible for the leadership and strategic vision for Direct to Consumer (DTC) channels including all wine club, tasting room and online channels. The objective of this position is to use consumer direct channels to drive sales thru increased customer awareness, acquisition, retention and loyalty while providing exceptional service that not only fulfills but exceeds our customer’s expectations.
Scope of Responsibilities
Develop long term DTC business strategy and plan.
Lead and direct the activities of DTC sales thru all club programs, tasting room and online sales activities.
Direct business priorities to insure brand imagery and goals are consistent with brand plan.
Ensure that all brand messaging, imagery, marketing collateral, promotional & merchandise strategies are aligned with the core brand strategy.
Provide strategic direction and planning in terms of financial planning, wine allocations and production needs.
Create and monitor department P&L.
Maximize club sign up opportunities in retail sales room and at all visitor center activities and events.
Evaluate DTC club and online sales performance.
Create and analyze financial reports, ranging from daily sales to DTC campaign analysis and custom reports.
Monitors sales trends and operating budgets, proposing adjustments to business strategies as needed to meet target revenue and profitability goals.
Analyze and report on purchasing trends, customer feedback and business development opportunities. Incorporate findings into effective marketing and sales strategies in order to meet plan goals.
Ensure the consumer’s shopping experience is enjoyable, user friendly and efficient and the website shopping cart and related POS system is maintained accurately.
Responsible for staff supervision, hiring, orientation, training, development, motivation and performance evaluation.
Manage culture, encourage strong work ethic and foster an environment of trust and respect. Provide leadership and support; support, guide and develop staff.
5+ years in DTC Marketing at best-in-class, consumer brand driven organizations
Previous wine club management desired but not required
Experience in tasting room and/or special events highly desirable
Demonstrated success as a leader promoting excellence
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be highly organized and able prioritize projects under tight time constraints
Budgeting and sales forecasting/analysis experience

Creative, entrepreneurial and self-starter
