B.R. Cohn Winery, located in the heart of the Sonoma Valley is hiring for an experienced, dynamic Special Events Manager to join our team. This person will lead and manage all aspects of the events business for B.R. Cohn including driving the vision and provide strategic leadership. We are looking for someone who can grow the event business, develop a powerful strategy and drive it to successful execution exceeding company expectations and enhancing the overall brand. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial mind and enjoying driving the business forward. This position will work closely with the Tasting Room Manager and Wine Club Manager to ensure that all consumer touch points stay within the brand look and feel.
The Special Events Manager facilitates the planning and execution of marketing events using their creative and organizational talents to ensure each function is executed with the highest level of detail and professionalism in accordance with the B.R. Cohn brand image. The Special Events Manager must be capable of delivering world-class customer service and generate revenue in conjunction with B.R. Cohn hospitality and sales expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and facilitate winery events of the highest caliber that are in keeping with the B.R. Cohn philosophy of quality wines presented with uncompromising hospitality.
Develop annual events to increase traffic to the winery and enhance brand awareness.
Manage the planning of events for the B.R. Cohn consumers (Wine Club events, receptions, corporate and private groups). Arrange details with customer, including wine selections, food pairings, musical entertainment, ambience pieces, and rental equipment where appropriate. Serve as the creative eye for all events, as well as facilitator of budgets, expenditures, and the proper coding of these expenses.
Conduct event analysis to identify future areas of improvement for events and recommendations for future event programing.
Plan, develop and manage the revenue and cost of events to increase profitability.
Coordinate and book inquiries for large group visits to the winery.
Network and develop outreach program with concierge, DMCs, etc. and identify key memberships in order to grow group sales for private and corporate events.
Work with local partners surrounding our key markets to partner on events in a dual promotion effort, maintaining these relationships for ongoing referral programs.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing small and large scale events, particularly in the premium wine industry
Strong attention to marketing and service detail
Able to multi-task multiple projects at once
Exemplary interpersonal communication skills
Team player with enthusiastic outlook and creative mind
Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook
