Truett-Hurst Winery, a Northern California wine producer, announced the release of its all-new line of “California Square” fine wines. The wines are now available in stores throughout U.S. and Canada.

California Square comes in three varieties of appellation-based wines: a Russian River Valley Chardonnay, a Paso Robles Cabernet and a unique Paso Robles Three Red Blend. The wines were crafted by winemaker Virginia Marie Lambrix, the winemaker for VML and Truett-Hurst wineries.

The packaging was created by design firm Stranger & Stranger’s Kevin Shaw, and the bottle is considered eco-friendly as the square bottles fit closer together and take up less space in shipping and storing. Shipping boxes for the bottles are 30 percent smaller than standard round-bottle case boxes. Also, the savings in cardboard in a smaller box allows for an extra layer of boxes on a shipping pallet (72 boxes versus 56— 30 percent more).

The wine is available at Total Wine & More stores throughout the U.S. or at totalwine.com.
