Wednesday, September 11th marked the first day of harvest at Schweiger Vineyards, located at the top of the Spring Mountain District in St. Helena, CA. The blessing ceremony is a time-honored tradition to celebrate and give thanks for another successful year of farming and harvesting grapes. Pastor Jim Beyer and Pastor Dennis Durham of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Santa Rosa lead the ceremony, reciting a prayer and blessing the Chardonnay grapes. Not only were the grapes blessed, but all staff as well, including harvest staff, the wine production team, and sales/tasting room employees. Participating in the ceremony was the entire Schweiger family, all vineyard workers, tasting room employees, as well as several guests.
