Winejobs.com released a report detailing wine job posting trends as of July 2013. As the wine industry’s leading online job site, Winejobs.com has a unique vantage point over industry trends. The Winejobs.com index indicates that job postings by wineries in July 2013 increased 29 percent from July 2012. The index is up 27 percent so far this year.
The July 2013 increase in job postings was driven by a big increase in hospitality and winemaking jobs. The hospitality index increased 44 percent from its level in July 2012 and is up 45 percent for the year.
The winemaking job index rose 28 percent above its level in July 2012, and is up 25 percent year-to-date. Helping drive the increase in winemaking jobs was an increase in harvest help positions. Harvest help listings increased17 percent over their level in July 2012, and are up 29 percent so far this year.
The sales and marketing index increased 7 percent from its level in July 2012. The index is up 13 percent year-to-date.
