Paul Franson of Napa comments on Eberle Winery on Syrah:

"It may not have had much impact, but Syrah was growing in the mid to late 19th century in Lake County. Orville Magoon showed me a few old vines from that period that still existed at Guenoc Estate at least a few years ago. No idea if the new owners have uprooted them."
