Postings Down 18 Percent from November 2011

Winejobs.com released a report detailing wine job posting trends as of November 2012. As the wine industry’s leading online job site, Winejobs.com has a unique vantage point over industry trends.

In 2011, more than 5,000 jobs were posted overall by wineries, industry suppliers, distributors, retailers and others on Winejobs.com. Through the end of November 2012, total postings were up 10 percent.

For wineries alone, the index indicates that job postings in November 2012 decreased 18 percent from November 2011. Year-to-date, the winery job index has risen 16 percent over 2011.

The decline in the winery job index for November was primarily caused by a decline in sales and marketing job postings. The sales and marketing index decreased 39 percent from November 2011. The index, however, is 32 percent above November 2010.

The winemaking job index increased 4 percent from November 2011, but is 20 percent below November 2010.

The hospitality index decreased 7 percent from November 2011, but was 9 percent above November 2010.
