Highlights of this year's Unified Wine Grape Symposium conference program include a joint Grapegrowing and Winemaking Session from 9 a.m. - noon on Thursday for Spanish speakers.
Panelists will give a review of the 2012 harvest from an international perspective followed by a summary of recent consumer trends in consumption and preference. The current planted acres per variety in the U.S. and trends in grape supplies will be evaluated. The speakers will focus on the growing and production of three key white varietals: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Albariño.
A panel of viticulturists will address the growing elements of these varieties followed by a discussion of winemakers with extensive experience in their production. To finish, three flights of wines will be presented by the panel for the attendees to taste.
Spanish session attendees will receive a certificate of completion after the conference.
A flyer on the session in Spanish and English is available to download here to distribute to Spanish-speaking winery and vineyard employees.
You can find descriptions of all the program sessions and speakers on the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium website.
