On July 12, Governor Jay Nixon of Missouri vetoed legislation (Senate Bill 834), which would have strengthened that state's monopoly protection law that had been pushed through the legislature by two Missouri distributors earlier this year.

This is a great win for California wineries. Wine Institute Central States Counsel Chuck McGrigg and the Institute’s local lobbyist Terry Schlemeier were part of an excellent industry coalition that included local wineries, DISCUS, NABI, beer producers, abi and local retailers.
